UPDATED June 30, 2002:
Bonus Update: Before we head to Argentina, we wanted to let our readers in on a few surprise events which have transpired over the recent months. Firstly, for those who don`t already know, we surprised our visiting folks and were married in San Pablo Del Lago, Ecuador on March 30. The second surprise is that we have expanded our family further with an adoption in La Paz, Bolivia. Click on the above links for the full story and pictures.
The slightly older story is that we`re now in Santiago, Chile enjoying the wine and snow. A lot has transpired since the last update and we haven´t had much Internet time. However, mainly to temporarily appease Dale´s mother, we´ve finished the Vietnam and Cambodia sections. These countries were two of our favorites of the trip -- educational, relaxing, and full of surprises. After Cambodia (and a few days in Bangkok), we recharged our batteries for 2 weeks in LA before heading to South America (where we´ve since been). We promise to catch up further over the next few weeks so stay tuned for more updates!
We quit our jobs. We threw out our stuff.
We boarded our beloved guinea pig. And on June 28, 2001, after months of
planning, agonizing, online shopping, and medical insurance fraud, the two of us left for a 14 month round-the world journey. What
will become of us? Where
will we go? Will Dana find vegetarian food in Malawi? Will Dale
unwittingly insult the natives?
Find out the answers to these questions and more on
this site, which is being updated regularly from the road (so
far).
